by Amit Singh on December 1, 2011

Android is the name of a mobile operating system developed by Google, Inc. If you are experiencing issues with your smartphone, you might want to reinstall the system’s files. Alternatively, you might wish to simply update Android to a newer version. You can either reinstall or update Android on your smartphone by using a specific program on your computer.

Steps:

  1. Visit the website of your smartphone’s manufacturer and select “Support.” Download and install the latest version of the synchronization software for your particular phone model.
  2. Connect your smartphone to your computer by using the supplied universal serial bus cable.
  3. Launch the synchronization application on your computer. Select “Restore” if you want to reinstall Android to correct any issue you might have with your phone. If you simply want to update Android, click on “Check for updates” either on the main screen or in the “Help” or “About” menus. The program will now download and transfer the operating system to your phone.

Warning:

  1. Make sure that your smartphone’s battery is fully charged before attempting to update or reinstall the operating system.
  2. Always make up a backup of important files before attempting to reinstall or update your smartphone’s operating system.
